Upgrading Your New Grenadier? Get Started Here.
The INEOS Grenadier first became widely available in 2023 and captured the hearts of off-road enthusiasts everywhere. Praised for its old-school design, the Grenadier garnered a reputation for being a vehicle that’s built for durable capability rather than the high-end luxury found with other vehicles in its class like the G Wagon and GX.
If you’re a new, lucky owner of one of these vehicles, your mind is probably racing thinking of all the ways you’d like to upgrade it and make it your own. You’re also probably a bit overwhelmed and are unsure of where to start. At Owl, we’ve helped countless customers achieve the Grenadier of their dreams. Use this guide as a starting point for all of your planned upgrades.
Roof Rack

Most Grenadier owners like to start with a big upgrade first, something that changes the tone of the entire vehicle. Roof racks are great for this because they alter the exterior style and make the SUV much more functional.
Overlanding is all about preparedness. You should have extra fuel, recovery shovels, traction boards — everything you need to get yourself out of a sticky situation. On long adventures, cargo space in the Grenadier can be limited, so a roof rack gives you a great place to mount things.
At Owl, we’ve got a variety of different styles available. Our Grenadier Flat Earth rack is the best overall because it provides a complete platform for mounting. Whether you need to ratchet strap down a cargo box or install a roof-top tent, this roof rack will allow you to do so.

Skid Plates
Once you’ve equipped your Grenadier for better adventures, you’ll want to start thinking about protecting your investment. This is especially true if you’re planning on doing heavy off-roading. Nothing will stop a trip short faster than a busted diff or driveshaft.
A front-to-rear skid plate can provide comprehensive armor to your Grenadier’s undercarriage. These plates allow you to slide over rocks without worrying about damage. For the price of the vehicle, Grenadier skid plates are 100% worth it.
Bull Bar or Bumper

An aftermarket bumper is great for both protection and recovery. On the front end, bumpers like the Owl Highline provide critical protection for sensitive components like the radiator and engine. They’re useful for sharp, rocky descents because they allow you to touch the front end to the ground without suffering severe damage. At the same time, bumpers with an integrated winch can be used for recovery. This is useful to rescue yourself and others.
Bull bars are important for nighttime off-roading, especially in areas where wildlife are abundant. A rogue deer can wreck your front end if you’re going fast enough, but a bull bar will stop this damage in its tracks.
Suspension Upgrades

Grenadier suspension upgrades are something that we recommend you only look into after you’ve spent some serious time in your vehicle. Off the lot, the Grenadier is actually pretty well-equipped for most off-road conditions, but many people like to push it even further.
If you’ve taken your Grenadier on a few off-road trips at this point, you might have started to notice some weaknesses. Maybe you feel like your suspension is bottoming out when going over ditches, or maybe your steering feels a little too loose. You can consider upgrades like these:
-
New Springs: Upgraded springs can improve how your Grenadier carries the vehicle’s weight. Lifted springs can add a little bit of ride height as well, giving you an increase in clearance.
-
New Shocks: Shocks control the movement of your Grenadier’s suspension as it hits bumps and goes over rough terrain. Upgrading them can tighten the feel of your vehicle when off-roading.
-
A Steering Stabilizer: Steering stabilizers prevent lateral movement when hitting rocks and other obstacles. They help keep your steering centered as you navigate rough terrain.
-
A Lift Kit: One of the most impactful suspension upgrades you can make is a lift. A 2” or 4” lift kit will drastically improve your Grenadier’s clearance and allow you to move through terrain that was previously impassable.
New Handles (Grab Bar, Hood, Rear Door)

Major upgrades like a roof rack, front bumper, or new suspension can make a big impact on the handling and functionality of your Grenadier. However, the smaller upgrades are just as crucial. After spending a lot of time in your Grenadier, you’ll start to notice a few things that drive you nuts. Here at Owl, the plastic grab bars, hood release handles, and rear doors are one of our biggest nuisances.
The stock grab bars and handles are made of flimsy plastic. For such a durable off-road vehicle, these parts just feel cheap. We’ve upgraded them so that you can get the feel you want out of your vehicle.
All our grab handles, hood release handles, and rear door handles are made out of billet machined aluminum. They have exceptional strength and come in multiple anodized colors to help you customize the look of your interior.

Seatback Foam
It’s pretty easy for the back of the rear seats to become scuffed and scraped up from gear. We got frustrated with this in our Grenadier, so we made seatback foam protectors that solve the issue. They have a sleek OEM look that looks like it was meant to be in the Grenadier in the first place. These are a must if you plan on loading up your Grenadier with camping gear or other equipment.
Wide Angle Convex Mirror

You’ve probably noticed the massive blind spots that the Grenadier has when traveling on the highway. This is due to the undersized, flat side-view mirrors. However, you can easily fix this with Owl’s wide angle convex mirrors.
These curved mirrors are the standard for vehicles in Europe, and they offer up to 60% wider field of view than the stock mirrors. Pair new mirrors with an upgrade like the G9000 rear-view camera and you’ll have no blind spots in your Grenadier anymore.

Steering Pump
Grenadier steering whine. We’ve heard it, you’ve heard it, and so has everyone else. It’s one of the biggest gripes people have with this vehicle and for a while, there was no solution. That changed when we created the Grenadier steering pump upgrade.
The upgraded steering pump eliminates the annoying whine of the factory pump, and it fixes all steering issues with the Grenadier. No more wander on highways or vagueness behind the wheel.
