Exterior Accessories for the Mercedes Sprinter

Our Sprinter van exterior accessories make each route a little smoother and campsites more comfortable. From bigger tires to relaxation, here are some of the upgrades we recommend.

Why Upgrade the Sprinter Van’s Exterior?

The right exterior accessories can:

  • Enhance Outdoor Living: Magnetic and folding accessories upgrade outdoor living, letting you enjoy the sights from anywhere.
  • Improve Tire Performance: Swap the factory defaults for all-terrain tires to confidently tackle rough and slick patches in any weather.
  • Expand Storage: Roofs, rear doors, or side panels—the right rack or carrier turns flat space into a convenient, accessible spot for your gear.

Camp Setup: Trax Table & Magnetic Mounts

Flip it. Secure it. Enjoy it. Wherever you stop, the Trax and Mag Tables give you a spot to savor your coffee and a meal before you venture out into the landscape. For mounting options, Trax Tables fit into the Sprinter’s sliding-door track, taking up minimal space. Mag Tables attach to pre-installed magnetic mounts and flip down to provide a level surface for meals.

Optimizing Performance

It’s those fine-tuned adjustments that even your ride. Noise fades to a minimum, and as you spot roots and rocks ahead, the Sprinter’s tires handle every curve and drop. Feel the difference when you:

  • Redirect Airflow: The Terrawagen Aero Hood Spoiler aligns with the factory design to direct bugs and road debris away from the windshield.
  • Accommodate Larger Tires: Complete your setup with Sprinter van exterior accessories like the Terrawagen Mondo Mudguard Big Tire Kit to fit larger wheels and Vannon’s Wide Body Fender Flares to widen your van's front haunches.
  • Install a Vent or Multipurpose Mount: Accessories like our Tech Vents and MOLLE Panels feature durable, slotted aluminum construction for attaching lights, a camera, traction boards, or other gear you’d ordinarily stash inside.

What are the most useful exterior upgrades for van life?

The most useful Sprinter van upgrades increase comfort, storage, and vehicle clearance. These generally entail installing a roof rack, vents, or exterior storage, adding an awning, magnetic table, and seating.

How do Owl magnetic mounts attach, and will they scratch my paint?

Owl Magnetic Mounts use a combination of magnetism and adhesive to secure to any steel surface without drilling. To attach, first remove dirt, oils, and debris from the mounting surface, secure the discs to the included magnets, and press the part’s adhesive end onto the desired exterior point.

Because the Magnetic Mounts create a strong seal, never pull or pry them off your Sprinter van, as you risk scratching the paint and other superficial damage. Instead, slip a piece of fishing line behind to detach.

Do I need fender flares or mudguards to run bigger tires on my Sprinter?

Sprinter fender flares block debris and protect your vehicle’s wheel wells when you upgrade to 33- or 35-inch tires. While not essential, mudguard and fender modifications also increase clearance and reduce friction for up to 33-inch tire upgrades. In the latter case, you can either trim the factory mudflap or liner back or install aftermarket parts that give the tires enough room to move.
