Aluminum Handles for the INEOS Grenadier

Owl's INEOS Grenadier handles lineup swaps out four factory plastic pieces, a rear door handle, hood release, grab handle, and rear tailgate grab handle, for parts machined from aluminum in the USA. The factory grab handles are weaker and less effective than they should be, and the aluminum replacement is a direct factory replacement that bolts into the existing holes (built to give a firmer, more secure grip). It's also roughly twice the length of the factory handle, giving more to hold onto when getting in or out.

The rear door handle gets its own upgrade in feel, a contoured ergonomic grip that's easier to hold than the factory piece, and it installs in less than a minute with no special tools. The hood release goes further still, adding a stainless steel strike plate and a glider rail that Owl says removes the factory slop, along with laser-etched factory-style graphics.

Each handle is anodized rather than painted, available in black, red, or orange depending on the piece, and every one bolts directly into existing holes or reuses factory mounting hardware, so installation doesn't call for cutting or drilling.

Fitment varies by piece. All four fit the Grenadier across all trims and model years. The hood release and interior grab handle also fit the Quartermaster, while the rear door handle and rear tailgate grab handle are built specifically for the Grenadier.

Are aluminum handles a direct bolt-on replacement?

Yes. The grab handle and rear tailgate handle are both direct factory replacements that bolt into the existing holes, and the hood release reuses the factory mounting screw. No cutting or drilling is involved on any of the four.

What types of handles are there, and where do they go?

Owl makes four: a rear door handle, a hood release handle, an interior grab handle, and a rear tailgate grab handle. The rear door and tailgate handles replace exterior pull points. Meanwhile, the interior grab handle sits near the door, for easier entry and exit. The hood release replaces the under-hood pull lever.

Will aluminum handles corrode or fade over time?

Anodizing creates a hard oxide layer bonded to the aluminum rather than painted on top of it, which is why it's a common choice for corrosion resistance on parts exposed to weather. Owl's handles are anodized for that reason, though how well any anodized color holds up long-term still depends on UV exposure and use.

Can I install these handles myself?

Most owners can. The rear door handle installs in less than a minute. The grab handle and hood release both use existing holes or factory hardware, so you typically don't need specialty tools. Owl also offers professional installation at its retail locations if you'd rather have it done for you.
