Bike Racks Built for the Mercedes Sprinter

A Sprinter bike rack should carry your bikes without eating into the cargo space you built your van around, and Owl's rear door lineup does exactly that. The B2 and B2 Pro mount bikes by the frame and support e-bikes up to 200 pounds combined, while the Sherpa carries bikes vertically alongside cargo boxes, fuel cans, and recovery gear across more than 150 mounting points.

Every rack is TIG-welded aluminum, built in Mesa, Arizona, and designed to open and close with your factory door (instead of swinging out on its own separate hinge). Confirm your hinge type before ordering, since Owl's rear door products fit the 180-degree setup found on most Sprinter, Revel, Storyteller, and Airstream vans.

Choosing Your Bike Carrier

If bikes are the priority, the B2 Pro is purpose-built for frame-mount security and e-bike weight. Want flexibility to swap bikes for a cargo box or spare tire on a trip-by-trip basis? The Sherpa or B2 Flex panel system lets you reconfigure the same mounting points instead of buying a second carrier.

Owl also integrates with 1up and Kuat trays for owners who already run those systems and just need Sprinter-specific mounting hardware.

Sprinter Bike Racks FAQ

How many bikes fit on a Sprinter bike rack?

Most Owl rear door carriers handle two bikes comfortably within their weight rating. The B2 and B2 Pro support up to 200 pounds combined, which typically covers two standard bikes or one e-bike plus a lighter second bike. Adding a 1up or Kuat tray can extend capacity further, depending on the setup.

Does a rear-door bike rack block access to the cargo doors?

No. Owl's B2 Pro use cases confirm you can access your rear doors without removing bikes or gear first.

Will the bike rack fit an e-bike or fat-tire bike?

The B2 and B2 Pro are rated for e-bikes up to their combined 200-pound load capacity and use frame mounts that accommodate wider fat-tire frames. The Sherpa's vertical mounting works for most bike styles, too, though very heavy e-bikes are better suited to the B2 Pro's dedicated frame mounts.

What makes Owl carriers better than the competition?

Owl was the original inventor of the hinge-mounted tire and bike carrier design, refined through years of testing on our own vans rather than a bench in a lab. Every rack is TIG-welded and powder-coated in Mesa, Arizona, and comes with a three-year warranty on Owl-manufactured parts, extended to four years if an Owl location installs it.

How is the rack secured to the van?

Most racks bolt to the van through a single drilled mounting point using a template, then work through the same door hinge system that ties the carrier to your van. Bikes themselves lock to the rack with frame mounts or a vertical kit and safety straps, plus an optional pin lock for theft deterrence.
