Sprinter Van Lighting Built for Night Driving & Off-Road Travel

Our lighting kits maximize what the Sprinter van already delivers. Go brighter. Enhance clarity. Tackle on- and off-road routes, day or night. To upgrade your vehicle’s capabilities, explore our recommended aftermarket solutions.

Why Upgrade Sprinter Van Lighting?

Sprinter van lighting upgrades help you spot all types of hazards (wherever you travel) to improve response time. You can exceed SAE recommendations with beams that deliver in pitch-black, rugged conditions, as well as through dense fog, snow, and dust.

Popular upgrades include bumper, hoodline, roof, and rear lighting.

Headlights, Light Bars & Auxiliary Lights for Sprinters

Our recommended upgrades fit 144- and 177-inch models, as well as camper vans and RVs built on the Sprinter chassis.

We’ve tested. We’ve compared. We’ve performed the installation. For headlight upgrades, you can’t go wrong with:

  • AlphaRex: The NOVA Series delivers a direct fit and adjustable beam for next-level visibility on and off marked roads. Compatible with OEM connections, the LUXX Series combines high-performance LED projectors and daytime running lights with a visually striking design. See why we recommend AlphaRex headlights.
  • Baja Designs: Venture out with the 11,000-lumen LP9 PRO. Built for overland use, this and other Baja Designs lights deliver a focused, wide beam and extreme weather resistance.
  • Triple-R: The Triple-R Sentinel pairs a high-intensity main beam with a backlight and vibration- and weather-resistant housing. Switch between white and amber beams to adapt to the conditions ahead.

Customize your Sprinter’s lighting for different conditions. For instance, the SAE fog light upgrade instantly activates high-intensity beams, so you can avoid hazards wherever you travel. Amber lights like the Baja Designs LP4 deliver more than their size suggests, with 8,000-plus usable lumens for extreme daytime use.

Lights that attach to grilles, vents, and other unused areas optimize your Sprinter’s capabilities. Your view isn’t just clear—it’s comprehensive, providing multi-directional and long-distance visibility. See the difference Vent Pods and grille lights make.

Light bars are versatile, low-profile solutions, like the Triple-R Linear 18 Elite+, that you can secure in several locations to amplify your Sprinter’s setup. They not only brighten your view, but with switchable white and amber lighting, they also help you navigate low- and no-visibility conditions.

Complete the connection with aftermarket cables, or install a switch panel for quick, button-push changes across multiple outputs.

Sprinter Lighting

What types of Sprinter lights are there, and where do they mount?

In addition to off-road upgrades for factory lights, other commonly attached fixtures include:

  • Grille and bumper lights, mounted to the front of the vehicle.
  • Roof lights, secured to the roof rack or vents.
  • Ditch lights, typically placed near the base of the windshield.
  • Strobe lights, mounted to the grille or hood to signal emergencies.
  • Light bars, ideally placed on the roof rack or bumper hoop.

While placement varies, lighting combinations increase brightness, provide multi-angle and long-range visibility, and improve navigation in low-visibility conditions.

Are these Sprinter lights street legal (DOT/SAE compliant)?

Yes, our selection includes multiple SAE/DOT-compliant options for off-road use. These include models from Baja Designs and dual-function Triple-R grille lights, all of which feature “SAE” on the lens and reduce glare with a more focused cut-off pattern.

Not every lighting fixture or kit sold meets these characteristics. High-output, roof-mounted, and bull-bar fixtures are strictly for trail use and must be turned off on public roads.

What’s the difference between SAE and off-road lighting? Our guide covers power output and travel considerations as you plan your upgrade.

Will LED headlights fit my 2019+ Sprinter with factory halogen or LED reflector headlights?

Yes, many aftermarket LED lights can replace a factory halogen or LED setup but will likely require a conversion harness or adapter, plus extensive rewiring. Also, if you remove the full halogen fitment, completing the job may require new connectors and reprogramming the Sprinter’s Body Control Module (BCM).

Replacement, in all cases, applies only to the housing, not the bulb. Placing aftermarket LEDs in halogen housings risks scattering glare across the road and triggering repeated “bulb out” warnings.

Can I install Sprinter lighting DIY in my own garage?

Yes, you can DIY install Sprinter lighting with the right tools and skills. Plug-and-play and direct attachments usually use standard hand tools, but auxiliary, recessed, and switch-panel-operated fixtures require drilling, running new wire, and managing fuses and connections.

For more complex jobs, schedule an appointment at a nearby service center.

What makes Owl’s Sprinter lighting setups better than the competition?

Whether from our own line or a brand we support, the lighting fixtures we carry don't compromise the Sprinter’s aerodynamics, feature durable, weather-resistant construction, and are easy to install to increase brightness and visibility in off-road and low-visibility conditions. In many cases, you don't need lighting bars and brackets. These fixtures replace the factory defaults with minimal wiring or attach to multipurpose vents.
