We cannot overstate how important this part is for both stock and modified vans.
The easiest way to understand why is to watch our video explaining single shear versus double shear mounting. In short, the factory upper rear shock bolt is supported only at one end. As the suspension cycles hundreds of thousands of times, that bolt is repeatedly loaded and unloaded. Over time, the metal fatigues until the bolt eventually fails.
The worst part? It almost never fails in your driveway. It usually fails on the trail, miles from help. And when it does, half of the broken bolt remains stuck inside the van's unibody. Even if you brought a spare bolt, it would not help. The only real solution is to prevent the failure from happening in the first place.
Historically, the only option was a functional but uninspiring bent steel compound bracket. It works, in much the same way a Prius gets you to work. Effective? Absolutely. Exciting? Not exactly.
Now there is a better, and even stronger, option.
Introducing the new Owl Billet Compound Bracket.
Each bracket is machined from a single solid block of aluminum. And when we say solid, we mean it. The raw billet starts at nearly 25 pounds and is precision machined down to approximately 12 pounds. There are no seams, no welds, and no fasteners holding separate pieces together.
The result is one of the strongest, most beautiful parts we make.
- Fits: Sprinter 2500 (2007+)
- 2WD+ 4x4 + AWD
- Highly suggested all vans, stock or with aftermarket suspension install this Billet Compound or our Steel Compound bracket.
- DOES NOT FIT Sprinter 3500
